I know, the new year has just begun. It is never too early to think spring. There are many things to be done during these winter months to get you ready for the warmer weather. If you are not using your trailer much this time of the year, it’s the perfect time for service. Make sure the tires are in good shape and check for dry rot cracks. Sitting over the winter months can be bad for your tires. We don’t want you starting your spring off on the wrong wheel.
Brakes, when applicable, are another place to be sure to check. Over heating can cause cracks in the brake pads and could lead to failure if not replaced. The cold weather can crack lenses on your lights, and a wide variety of other problem can sneak up on you too.
So while you have a little down time (I know, what is down time, right?) don’t neglect your trailers or other equipment that isn’t seeing a lot of use this time of year. This holds true as you transition from season to season, warm or cold. Keep your equipment maintained and it will reward you with a long life of use.
