When you are hooking up to your trailer, there are right and wrong ways to do so. We want to make sure that you safely towing as you ride down the road. One of the main things to consider when towing is to be sure the trailer is riding as level as possible. This will eliminate any uneccessary wear and tear on the coupler and tires. You will beed to make sure that your ball and ball mount are at the correct height to insure a level tow. Below is a picture of a small trailer hooked up wrong.
What needs to happen here is lowering the ball mount. This truck is equipped with an adjustable one, but using one with a lower drop will work out just fine. With the trailer at this level, the tires will not wear properly over time, and there will be a lot of bounce at the coupler, which may result in the trailer coming unhooked.
Don’t become a statistic on http://dangeroustrailers.org/ Please make sure you hook your trailer up correctly. Tow Safe!
